Lol!

The crows eat the babies, and our Mexican maintenance men tell me they are a delicacy.

I guess we need a Iguana Burgers stand down here. 😄

I don't think I'd want to be overrun with them but it would be cool to have a few around. It's too cold here for lizards, unfortunately.

they were brought in as pets and let loose. Now they are everywhere. They eat almost every plant that flowers and bears fruit, poop huge piles, carry salmonella, and can bite if caught or threatened (although they prefer to run).

If you really want "a few around", make sure they are all the same sex. 😄

Oh, and one more thing... During January when we get a cold spell or two, the drop in temp makes them fall asleep and they fall out of the trees. I kid you not, big falling lizards are a danger here in the winter. And if they hit pavement from a high tree, they die, and then you have stinking iguana carcasses lying around.

They fall out of the trees and when it warms up during the day they reanimate.
My dad tossed one in the trash and scared the hell out of him when it woke up and he lifted the lid on the garbage can. You'd have thought it was a gator the way he screamed like a woman and jumped back through the hedges. I don't think I ever laughed so hard.

At the first cold snap, usually in mid-October, there would be iguanas falling out of trees all over the place. They'd just have to learn to hibernate.

Not necessarily kill them, but they'd be hesitant about coming around with a kitty on the prowl.

Once many years ago I turned Tokay Gecko loose in my apartment. The cats were afraid of it.
