He and one bird had a hate/hate relationship. The bird woke him up every morning at the crack of dawn and did nothing but chirp once every 3.5 seconds for at least an hour or two.

No warbling, no symphonies of heavenly songs. Just "chirp......", chirp!....", "chirp!......", "chirp!......"

especially when i've been up a bit too long & am trying to get to sleep

the thing about summer is that you have got to get to bed. & hopefully sleep. before the birds start getting up because it's nearly impossible to fall asleep with all that noise and brightness. even before it gets light out they're waking up & talking about it.
