Spent the last half hour having a 100 lb. brindle boxer trying to crawl onto my lap.

I have a neighbor who dog sits from time to time. She knew Lady Puppeh Girl, and knew of her passing, so she decided to bring her charge to my house this afternoon so I could play with her for a while. The puppy and I fell instantly in love with each other. Today I was privileged to get doggy licks on my face and drool all over me.

I'm in heaven.

She's beautiful.

My neighbor said Sophie seemed to know where she was going- she suddenly got excited and almost ran up to my door. That's something she has never done before.

I don't know what I gots, but I sure gots a lot of it!

How nice for you!

We used to have a boxer when I was a kid. She had so much energy that we really could not keep her. Even though we had a big lot, it wasn't big enough for her, so we found someone with a ranch who wanted her. She could run for miles there, and although we missed her, we were glad she was happy at last.

I'm glad you're in heaven! I'll bet Sophie is too...

I've only met a boxer once; she was a brindle too. Her human got in a car accident, and when he was getting her out of the car, she slipped her collar and bolted. When I saw her headed my way down the middle of the road, I got out of my car and tried to block her. She dodged to her left and as she ran past my car I called out to her in my most soothing voice that she was safe and she would be ok. Luckily she responded to my voice and stopped and turned. She came to within a couple feet of me and I was able to wrap my arms around her and hold her while her human came running.

She was so, so silky soft and so very gentle.

Lucky you! May you have more Sophie playtime!

Some of them are dumb as boxes of rocks, but they're usually sweet as can be. I miss my boxer mix.

you know. They should bottle that stuff--but for the medicine to work, they would have to prescribe actual puppehs to administer it.

to a dog run at lunch, to lay with strange dogs. It seriously stopped me from losing my shit quite a few times, when work was a nightmare.

therapy dogs bring the dogs to the library, along with free bottles of water and snacks, so that stressed out students can enjoy a little puppeh therapy.

I am faculty, not a student, but I always make it a point to be at the library for those visits!

At first I'd go to the park to mediate, then the dogs caught my eye. A week later, I was like what the hell- I'm going in!
Good call.

My girl is 5. She is a lump of love, pure and simple. If you lived close, I would let her visit you all of the time. The happy wiggle butt, the million kisses, and the snuggles. Pure heaven.
