Pure joy: City pool opens to dogs-only before the season ends

Every year, Lakeview Park in Nampa, Idaho, holds a "Pooch Pool Party" day where all dogs are invited to enjoy the public water park before it closes. This dogs-only event allows the pups to run around and play in the water while their humans watch.

Not being a dog person (allergies) or a swimmer, I have no idea, but the parking lot is always packed on that day.

.... and one dingy person asked if "humans can swim with the dogs" ... umm, a not-recently-cleaned pool full of hounds? Eewww?

It would be nice if they had a shallow end for the smaller dogs. Granted, my sister's prissy Chihuahua and my sister-in-law's Yorkie don't even like getting their feet wet, but our little Schipperke loves the water. We can't even keep her from sitting in the doggie water bowl outside.

If there is water you can bet she'll get in it. She doesn't exactly like to swim, rather she just lays in it. Or, she wants me to hold her and swirl her around in the water, haha. She absolutely adores bath time.
