can't really move freely from one stage area to another, can't see performers well enough to enjoy.

Lovely idea, great music, but the conditions are unbearable.

to being there in year 14! Meeting my 24 year old daughter and her friends Friday AM. And we are so excited! We know Golden Gate Park like the back of our hands and know all the alternative paths to beat the "conditions". And I don't need to see the performers to enjoy the music. In fact, there are some places that are acoustically better than seeing the band.

Cibo Matto! Red Baraat! John Langford! Bonny Prince Billy! Mavis Staples! Yo La Tengo! Deltron 3030! Buckwheat Zydeco!

Knowing the park like the back of your hand is probably the only way to really enjoy it. I've been wanting to take my granddaughters. but the last time I went was in 2009.. I loved the music which I could hear well enough but not the experience..

The first few years I'd stay till the bitter end getting home via transbay bus near midnight can be quite an adventure. So can being kicked off the a muni bus in the tenderloin late at night.

Where else can you see so many different and fine acts? I've met quite a few of the performers in the crowds.
