Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWherein my darling daughter attends last night's SNL cast party...until the wee hours.
She and our son-in-law are high school chums (Class of '89) with Sarah Silverman.
Sarah invited them and two other classmate friends of theirs to the dress rehearsal of last night's show.
They're a tight bunch who have kept in touch over the years.
Daughter says the rehearsal is more interesting and fun than the actual broadcast because they got to see some skits that didn't make the final cut.
They had center seats in the first row in the balcony.
There are about 40 'floor' seats, but there's a lot of crew in the way and you can't see the stage as well.
Sarah came out and chatted with them afterwards and everyone in the audience wondered who the hell they were.
Sarah also invited them to the cast party.
It started about 1:30 Sunday at a Mexican restaurant reserved for the occasion.
They had to go through two levels of 'security'.
They sat at Sarah's table and either saw or met Martin Short, Lorne Michaels, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Owen Wilson, and ome friend of Sarah's called "Tall Paul".
My daughter is 5'8" and had her picture taken with him
He's 6'10"
I have no idea who he is.
Help?
They had a fantastic time and got back to their hotel around 5 a.m.
whew
My baby girl.
I would have traded my left (or right, your choice) gonad to have been a fly-on-the-wall there.

Nothing like a glimpse into what goes on at rehearsals.....

(54,255 posts)The only two that my daughter saw talking into cellphones were Sarah's manager and publicist.
Of course my daughter and her friends were WAY to cool to start taking pictures.
Or asking for autographs.
She said "We just tried to "blend".
She did get questions about their relationship to Sarah.
"We're just friends from high school."
"REALLY? WOW, that's cool."
Sarah is pretty down to earth.
Doesn't forget the 'little people'.

(54,255 posts)They all live relatively mundane lives.
Mom, dads, kids, school, jobs.
I'm glad they were able to have a touch of the 'high life'.

(54,255 posts)Michael Sheen was there.
He and Sarah have been a 'couple' since the first of the year.
I looked him up and evidently he is an incredible actor.
Welsh.
I saw him as Tony Blair in "The Queen" and thought he was quite good.
He has a daughter with Kate Beckinsale.
They were also there with her husband, director Len Wiseman, and all seemed to be on very friendly terms.
Nice.
