I am seriously considering it for Thanksgiving, using Alton Brown's method:

(33,688 posts)3. That's a rather personal question, innit?
Seriously, somewhere I have a similar recipe for roasting a chicken in the oven that way - place bird on rack over various mostly root veggies and let the yummy roasting juices soak into said veggies. Very high temp to start, then turn down the oven and finish cooking. Bird glazes beautifully that way.
