Growing up with a magnifying glass

This article about a guy who burns his art onto wood with a magnifying glass and the sun , brought back memories. My father worked at Corning glass and would bring him stuff he worked on. One thing was a lens about 18" in diameter and , Lord, could we do destructive shit with that - melting medal, boiling water, setting fires,giving each other hot foots, killing insects as we played God -
