Robin Redbreast



It was believed in the 17th century that robins, if they found a dead body, would cover the eyes of the deceased with moss. “Covering with moss the dead’s unclosed eye, the little red breast teaches charity.”- Elizabethan poet Michael Drayton.
I just found out the unfortunate binomial name of the species is Turdus Migratorious.
