(13,141 posts)because of a cat.. and I kept thinking how dogs have no
idea how strong and powerful they are. that they could
rip us to shreds easily if they wanted, or kill a cat with
a single bite.. so I hate to call them stupid but they are
kind of dearly dumb - smart where it counts.. in love.

(34,582 posts)quite a bit of damage. I would put a 20lb cat up against a 50lb dog any day.

(13,141 posts)Generally I have that thought more in regards to the dogs' owners
and not cats -- how they love unconditionally, even the worst of
us at times, when one well-placed bite could get you the whole
bag of dog food..

(17,175 posts)"This is the most desperate breed there is. They are just a little too bright for the servile role of dogdom. So their loneliness is a little more excruciating, their welcomes more frantic, their desire to please a little more intense. They seem to think that if they could just do everything right, they wouldnt have to be locked up in the silencepacing, sleeping, brooding, enduring the swollen bladder. Thats what they try to talk about. One day there will appear a super-poodle, one almost as bright as the most stupid alley cat, and he will figure it out. He will suddenly realize that his loneliness is merely a by-product of his being used to ease the loneliness of his Owner. Hell tell the others. Hell leave messages. And some dark night theyll all start chewing throats."
