A Golden Retriever was rescued by Suffolk County Police officers Friday morning after he got his head wedged in a cat house in Medford.
Officers Stephen Lukas, Martin Gill and Sgt Kit Gabrielsen responded to the backyard of 212 Holland Ave. at 11:10 a.m. after a woman reported that her dog, Buddy, was stuck in the cat house.
The officers used crow bars and a hammer to dismantle the cat house and free the pesky pooch.
Buddy wasn’t hurt and was returned his owner.

It says "CAT----" (maybe CATfish?) by the door!

Goldens are such big lovable lugs.

in the cat door. My husband had cut an oblong hole, with a little sliding door to close it, at the bottom of the solid wood back door for our cat. The new puppy, Billie girl, was three months old when we got her, and she could go in and out through the cat door. Then the day came when she could no longer squeeze her fat little puppy belly through and my husband commented that we should have wrapped a band of coarse sandpaper around her midsection, rough side out, so the cat door opening could grow with her!

The dogs we've had have discovered the pleasure of lying down inside and having their head sticking out through the cat door to catch any good smells, sights, and sounds on the outside.

I think dogs spending their days in the yard could be a lot happier if they had a window to the world!

Cute little doggie head poking through - great idea. They do love to watch the world go by.
