Round on the ends, high in the middle



Ohio didn’t become a state until after WWII. Jefferson approved its boundaries in 1803, but Congress didn’t start admitting states until nine years later. It was 1953 before anyone noticed the oversight, and Eisenhower hastily recognized the state, retroactively making it a state since 1803.
