2. This used to be my fovorite segment on The Tonight Show...

...when Johnny Carson did it. Sometimes I would laugh to the point of tears and gasping for breath. One I remember was the Roach-Spray announcement.

My own last name is Ball. Problematic enough, and the subject of way too many lame athletic and anatomic jokes in middle school and high school. While I was stationed in Japan with the Air Force nurse corps, I had a good friend who was a protocol officer. His last name was Penix. Seriously. He was a great guy, but romance was out of the question - trading my last name for his just wouldn't have worked, and going the hyphenated route would have been unbearable.
