(7,661 posts)for the reply, he's been swimming since I took him to mommy and me swim classes even though I'm the daddy. Even back then the instructors told us he was a natural, I'm a proud Pop for sure.

(14,530 posts)a friend whose daughter is really into swimming. This is no small feat. It takes a lot of practice and dedication on both the parents and kids part. When she talks about getting up at 4 AM, I am thrilled my youngest is in band.

(7,661 posts)which has meets in the Southern NY area. He is also one of the leaders of his Junior High team and yesterday he took first and second in his individual matches. He is 12 and goes against boys who are sometimes 15 years old at school meets. At the Swim club I don't think there is an age barrier. He also helps out teaching kids who are disabled on Saturdays before his Swim team practices. As you can tell I'm very proud of this wrinkled, water logged kid.
