Obviously your dog forefathers threw milk-bones into the harbor to avoid this: nonetheless, you are having a bath today.

(16,334 posts)he's a big dog so this has to be done outside. If he gets a glimpse of the hose or shampoo or towels, he will head for another part of the yard and turn into a 2 ton statue. What I do is get everything ready outside and my son tells the dog they are going out to play basketball. He LOVES to be out with the kids when they play ball. We get him onto the court and then I sneak up with the hose.
He likes it once he's all done. It's just the initial idea of a bath that he hates.

(3,600 posts)I once knew a dog named Ringo who liked being bathed, so long as he was sponged and wiped by the two legs.
But then he shared a dog house with a cat named Sam, like spaghetti and appreciated that the cat kept his food safe from rodents.
