My local Friday fish fry offers baked fish - in my opinion, it's even better! Ask them! riderinthestorm Feb 2015 #7
Nope - there's nothing to take the place of crsipy (greasy) fried fish. hedgehog Feb 2015 #10

Your lent is fried fish.

Now go in there with a really good pulled pork sandwich and a six pack.

I also remember that I was burping/tasting beer the next day after having only one.

But we have fish a lot due to my cholesterol problems, and no fried stuff for me either.

My wife made an ocean whitefish (hake or mackerel or something) in an olive oil-onion-and-mustard sauce that was so good, I kept heaping it on the kohlrabi that was on the side after the fish was gone.

She comes from a Catholic background (family goes back over 500 years, not her fault), but I come from a non-religious background, so that doesn't figure into our meal plans at all.
