(51,444 posts)I really don't have any digital photos of the inside or how awful it looked when I bought it. The picture from the 1800's was available because the library ran a project to 'save' historic pictures and scanned it into their system. I just happened to find it during a Google search.

(32,723 posts)They wanted to document every home in case if they were destroyed by bombing during WWII. (Yes, they actually believed that was a real danger back then.)
A few examples of buildings still standing:
I've thought of buying one of those old places and using historic photos to restore it.
Did you do paint scrapings to find the original colors?
