spring is my favorite time of year. the rebirth, the return of shirt-sleeve weather, the longer days and being able to open the windows.
life has been trying lately, but it's hard to feel down this time of year. i'm on the patio with a bit of local and a bit of local and i'm feeling just dandy.
caught this a couple of weeks ago and need to get back to see what's happening at the garden now
happy saturday night, loungers

Spring is my favorite season too....there's something about rebirth everywhere that makes me glad.

(24,146 posts)but, outside the dull-looking pines, everything turns brown and the birds go mostly quiet. i'll start seeing the calves and foals in the fields soon, a few fawns if i'm lucky, and we'll head up into the mountains by the end of the month. i can't wait to hear the roar of the river, smell the fresh air and see the mountain flowers.
it's a good time of year, indeed

(2,710 posts)It still hasn't been warm, or dry enough to get out and clean up the yard, but I know spring is here because my nose is running, and my eyes are leaking.

(21,020 posts)to live in New England during the winter, Spring always makes it all worthwhile.
How else could we appreciate the rebirth? The thrill of hearing the first peepers. Of seeing the first crocus and fiddlehead ferns.
and even smelling the first skunks coming out of hibernation.
Yesterday Mr Pipi put out the wire suet feeder filled with yarn and lint scraps I had saved up for the birds and squirrels to use in their nests.
Pretty soon the 15th generation of catbirds will be building their nests under the eaves of my small sun porch and raising their brood (2 broods per year actually).

(11,065 posts)now some people have daffodils blooming. The forsithia is only starting to bud and the trees only have bitty buds, but they're getting there. Today we finally had sun and it was much warmer but still too chilly in a t-shirt because the wind was too cold still though not as cold as before. Last year spring took AGES to get going, but Yoshi started to shed for the spring earlier than last year, and somehow their coats always know when the time is right. He's still a bit of a nightmare of shedding gobs of undercoat but with all the brushing he's getting there and not looking quite so scraggly. I love it that Akitas shed only once a year and that's it, but while they're doing it it's a couple of weeks of drowning in fur everywhere.
