Amazing! (Harpo)

I just watched an episode of "I Love Lucy" in which Harpo Marx was a guest star. He did his usual silly stuff, but then brought in a harp and played "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and the beauty of his playing and the beauty of his face while playing sent chills through me!! One could have no doubt of his pure love and enjoyment of the instrument, and heavens, he's good.

I'm not quite old enough to have seen the Marx Brothers much more than Groucho, and that gets old quickly. Maybe I need to give them another look-see?

I feel so ignorant that I didn't even know this part of him existed. (Blows the "Harpo" obviousness out the window, huh?)

Tho not one of their best movies, it's cute.

I think their best movies are "A Night at The Opera" and "Duck Soup" Duck soup is a parody of WW I made in 1933.

I named my dog after him.

I got Harpo from the city pound. She was an almost full grown mutt maybe a malmute shepherd wolf something mix.
I was thinking naming her Harpo she would be a quiet dog. I forgot Harpo had that loud horn. She brought me lots of joy.

I'm pretty sure his autobiography "Harpo Speaks" is out of print. If you see it around, it's a great read.

I bet he really was an awesome man. There was just something in his expression of joy and sensitivity that gave measure of a man I didn't know existed.

Will try to find "Harpo Speaks" - thank you for the suggestion.
