Thinking of where I was 31 years ago, heading to Italy on honeymoon, thinking about the food, and all I came up with was American SANDWICHES!!! And it's TOO LATE!

after having a few beers, some good food photography, and good descriptions is brutal. In a sad way way I'm glad Mark Bittmen retired from the NY times, because he had the same untimely-bastardly effect on me. All I can think of now is some authentic kosher dills are in order!

That reminds me, haven't seen Amerigo Vespucci around in a while. I think he was food photographer. Miss him.

Sadly the trade off was he gave up his lucrative job at the times, giving us awesome recipes daily. But even then, it was obvious that he was a thinker, with strong ethical convictions, so my gustatory loss is a gain for the world. Now that he is following his beliefs against factory farming, and for sustainability etc. Still love the guy.

Wonder if he could be a federal agriculture secretary one day..... hmmm...
