This sounds like a bs bid to pay for Snyder's millionaire tax cuts. I don't recall reading about rampant mushroom poisoning. Another solution in search of a problem.

I wish my Dad's cousin had passed along his mushroom hunting spots before he died. He used to bring us a 5 gallon bucket of morels in the spring. We would have a mushroom feast, and then dry the rest.

But he didn't. So somewhere in northeastern Indiana is a mushroom nirvana just waiting to be discovered anew.
