on Jimmy Fallon. Beca Mitchell is the name of her character in Pitch Perfect 2. There's a twitter feed called 'Hashtag Beca Effin Mitchell.' Her mom described it to her as 'Pound Beca Effin Mitchell.' LOL.

in the doctor's office.

They were trying to figure out a reason for face book; if they could find a reason, they'd use it.

I feel the same way about twitter, snapchat, and whatever else is out there. If I can find a productive purpose in spending my time and attention, I'll use it. If not, I won't.

I've been on face book for years; I don't use it to friend a bunch of people I don't really know. My main purpose in using Face Book is to stay connected with people when I don't live near them any longer. In addition to that, I belong to several groups...those, while they don't show up on my wall, are professional or political.

it isn't - it depends on how much effort you're willing to put in to stay connected - I grew up as a GI brat and have no problem staying connected without using Facebook - it just takes effort that most people are not willing to give.....people now can't see living without FB but seriously, they would not even bother trying to send a postcard to the people they are "connected" with pre-FB.....and also, the people who claim they have no time seem to have plenty of time to talk about the latest crap TV shows so that is bullshit too

but it's a tool that works in some cases. I agree that there's a lot there that's inconsequential trivia that I don't need; since my "friends" are basically real life people that live in different time zones and/or operate on conflicting schedules, we don't phone each other. We do sometimes snail mail. I have to admit, though, that I tend to type and send rather than use pen or pencil; the carpal tunnel complains less.

My Dad is clueless about social media, and about the internet in general.

He asked me one time: "What's a google?"
