I just saw on VH-1 Classic one by Asia, the lead singer on several TV screens, with gymnasts jumping over them.

(3,655 posts)The Leningrad Cowboys are also from Finland. Get your freak on with their wild hair, their outfits, their playlists and their backup singers, the Russian Red Army choir.

(57,284 posts)Can I get that on eight-track?
Speaking of which, I found Dark Side of the Moon on eight-track (Capitol 8XW11163, not the valuable one) left out for a trash pickup a few weeks ago. Yes, I do have some eight-track players.

(82,849 posts)Got heavy rotation on the original MTV, partly because there just weren't that many music videos to fill a 24-7 schedule.

It might've been "Rock Me Tonight" but I'm not sure.

(27,054 posts)I had no idea the video "killed his career."
I mean, lots of people made bad videos (and still do). Yes, that one was particularly bad, but had no idea it was pegged as the reason he faded from popularity!!

(153,111 posts)Mr. Squier was very popular but that video made jaws drop - it just did not jive with the tough image of him and his his music

(46,300 posts)Most likely really old news, but this is the first I've heard this tune, and it sounds very much like "Can't Touch This."
Not really surprising though, either.

(21,484 posts)Even the name - music video - is an oxymoron.
Why? Because, as Lewis Black says, music is meant to go in your ear. Video goes in your eye.
I've loathed music videos since The Buggles killed the radio star.
