...and she jokingly said that I should run for president. I told her that I have way too many skeletons in my closet.

Drug use as a teen and in my early twenties. Convicted of two misdemeanors related to alcohol (not DUIs). Countless other dumbfuckeries that I got away with but that could have considerably lengthened my criminal record. Bipolar disorder, which it turns out was the reason for all of the dumbfuckeries.

I have written a memoir that is unpublished. I've given it to a few trusted people for review. One of them, a friend of the family, said that I appear to be a much different person now than I was earlier in life. It is true. I've completely changed and for the better. It's amazing what psychiatric meds can do now days.

With some of the shit I've done, I couldn't be elected Dog Catcher. I'm so glad that no one had a cell phone video camera and that youtube was not around when I was in highschool and college.

I didn't do too much that was illegal (ok, just a little), but mainly just dumb shit that the other participants have sworn to secrecy or have forgotten due to the intense drug/alcohol use of the time.

but maybe if Bernie makes some headway those traits could become more widespread in politics. go for it! run for city council or another local position. I bet you would do well.
