Passive Aggressive Attitudes - What's your example?

Here's mine from just a few minutes ago.

I was at the bank drive through. There was a line of cars. There's two ATMs on a single lane. Cars normally go through two at a time because no matter which of the two cars being serviced by the two ATMs finishes first, no other car can reach an ATM until in the car using the back ATM leaves.

So two cars go through, then the next two, and then it's my turn plus the car in front of me.

But the car in front of me stops at the back ATM instead of pulling forward to the ATM in front, thus blocking both ATMs while it is being serviced...

No amount of honking persuaded the "lady" in front to move forward to the next ATM. She took her sweet time at the back ATM while blocking access to the front ATM.

This was no accident or oversight. She knew what she was doing and she did it deliberately to make the people behind her wait longer.

So what's your story of passive aggressive assholery?

Then, she moves forward and stops at the first ATM while I honk and motion for her to go to the next ATM.

And you still think she did it because she was what, clueless? Ignorant? Ditzy?

I rather give her the benefit of doubt and assume she is intelligent.

New to the bank? People do dumb things at times, or are oblivious.

I hate it when in the neighborhood, people pass each other in cars, know each other, so they stop to talk from their cars. This blocks the street.

it still leaks. Now we put this large tupperware under it to catch the water and throw on the front porch plants. Only in the morning I use the water to wash up when I'm in there. So this morning I forgot to put the tupperware back under the sink. With in 2 minutes my mother notices and she walks all over the house saying I wonder where the tupperware for the front bathroom. She finds me in the livingroom reading the paper and she asks me if I've seen. So I get up to go take care of it but she very nicely says not worry about it she find it. She walks around the house continuing to say "I wonder where the tupperware went?" So I take the hint, get up, go to the bathroom, find the tupperware on the sink right next to the faucet and put the tupperware back to catch the leak.

Look just tell me that I forgot to put the tupperware back. No need for the big production.

At some point someone in the big line of cars stuck behind them pops out to the right, hammers the gas and rips it back over in front of them with inches to spare. THAT really pisses um off so they have to find a semi and spend 50 miles to pass the thing and then shoot up to 90 to get to the next pack of cars before anyone else can get by.

I've been known to get away from them on distance drives by taking a ramp and then getting right back on. Works 90% of the time to get me between the packs.

A lot of other passive aggressive crap is just irritating. Roll my eyes at the poor pathetic person and move on. This particular habit can get someone killed in the bottleneck they create. God forbid someone blow a tire or hydroplanes etc.

For example, I might be cruising at 30-35mph (the speed limit for most non-expressway roads in Japan) along a stretch of road where no one is ahead of me, and no one is behind me, but there is a car stopped at a crossroad up ahead. Oftentimes, the car will wait until I am pratically at the crossroad, and then it will then pull out in front of me, causing me to reduce my speed down to 10mph or so. Then that car will take its sweet time to accelerate up to 30mph, if it even makes it that fast. After driving like this for a while, we might be approaching a green light, but the car ahead of me still takes its sweet time (usually below the speed limit), until we are near the light and it starts to change to red. Then the car ahead of me will speed up so that it crosses the intersection on a red light, while I have to wait for the next light.

If I'm having a bit of a conversation with a co-worker and the boss comes around for no other reason than to pretend they're not noticing, but expecting to see us guiltily part ways and go back to our cubicles, I will stay and talk to my co-worker for another 10 minutes. Even if I was finished when my boss did the 'rounds'. I refuse to be or act intimidated by the boss' presence. Fuck em.

What are they going to do? Fire me? I'm one of their most productive and knowledgeable workers. I'm the kind of employee that makes my bosses look really good. Fuck em.

They always stop after a some time has gone by. Fuck em.

You are brilliant, but you are a fucking asshole! if I could get rid of you, I'd do it in an instant.

I left shortly thereafter.

On my own accord.

To a new job.

With a pay raise.

If I need something done, I dare not ask him to do it as it would be a guarantee that it would never be done. If another family member asks for it to be done, it's more likely that it will happen, but maybe not.

For example, he is a computer geek of a fairly high order yet when I have problems with my computer I have to take the computer to a professional geek to fix which of course cost me money, time, and the inconvenience of not having a computer while it's being fixed. On one of the rare times he actually spoke to me, he outlined a plan of how I could both upgrade my computer and yet retain an operating system that one of my data programs only works on. Did that ever happen? Hell no.

And the upshot is that we all live together.

Now THAT's classic passive aggressive.
