The next wave of Marvel films will include the strongest female lead imaginable.

There is no doubt in the minds of fans and comic book aficionados that one of the most important and pivotal upcoming movies for the MARVEL Cinematic Universe’s Third Phase involves a superhero that not only has her own book, but also has been part of teams such as the Guardians of the Galaxy, and is still, until now, an Avenger. However, it is still yet to be seen how Carol Danvers, or Captain Marvel will figure in the upcoming “Avengers” movies, “Avengers: Infinity War I & II,” but it does seem likely that she will be a key figure in everything, and might even lead the Avengers, just as she did before. Read on to learn more about why Captain Marvel is so important to the Third Phase of the Cinematic Universe, and as to why the captain might actually lead her own team.

Captain Marvel, or Colonel Carol Susan Jane Danvers, according to MARVEL’s official website, is a highly skilled pilot in the United States Air Force, for those who may not know, became a superhero after she was caught in the explosion of the destruction of a Kree device named the Psyche-Magnitron during a showdown between the Kree villain Yon-Rogg, and the Kree superhero known as Captain Mar-Vell. Carol had known Mar-Vell’s human identity as he worked on the Air Force base with her, and tried to save her from the explosion by flying her away from the area. However, in the process, Mar-Vell dies, and Carol absorbs his Kree physiology, thus making her into a superhero.

As a powered being, Carol can fly, and is very strong and durable and can shoot bursts of energy from her hands.

She was known by different aliases, such as Ms. Marvel, a moniker she had when she led the Mighty Avengers, and it was Captain America who recently advised her to take on the mantle of Mar-Vell as Captain Marvel.

The wonderful thing about Carol is that she immediately allows elements of the cosmic Marvel universe to arrive with her, as she is an Earth bound hero with cosmic powers, and a cosmic origin story, which makes her a perfect fit for the Third Phase, which will introduce another cosmic hero, Dr. Stephen Strange, and since the “Infinity War”, is cosmic in nature.

I just watched Avengers: Age Of Ultron on my flight back from London today. Still awesome.

But for Phase III though - Marvel is going all in. You have Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange, the next Thor movie, Inhumans, and Captain Marvel. The only question I have is who is going to play Captain Marvel? My personal pick would be Margot Robbie (who was awesome in Focus), although Anne Hathaway I could definitely see kicking some ass!

Kevin Feige, the producer of Marvel Studios, just got out from under the control and racist and sexist head of Marvel Entertainment and now reports directly to Disney.

RDJ is getting paid handsomely for his Iron Man & Disney has got to be looking at that real hard. A Black Widow move would increase SJ salary at least by double. There's serious money in these superhero flicks.
