Who would you list as an elegant and classy woman? Here are a few.
Katherine Hepburn
Audrey Hepburn
Grace Kelly
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
Barbara Stanwyck
Lena Horne
Michelle Obama
Natalie Portman
Emma Watson
You can also include classy gentlemen.
I need a palate cleanser from some of the "celebrities" out there.

The gentleman: Cary Grant, always. And Cary Grant. Did I mention Cary Grant?

(17,193 posts)... the story is told of Cary Grant attending a by-invitation-only event in Beverly Hills a few years before he died. He told the attendant at the gate, "I'm sorry, I forgot my invitation, but I'm Cary Grant."
Rent-a-cop looks at him suspiciously. "You don't look like Cary Grant.:
Grant replies: "I know. Nobody does."
And to think he was a Cockney named Archie...

(4,858 posts)...Kate Hepburn was a family friend, and I'd sometimes hang out in her Saybrook, CT home. I saw him there now and again, and he'd always treat me like an adult--he was really very cool. But I can say this--he was always more "Archie Leach" than "Cary Grant", in his own eyes...

(63,221 posts)I really miss the old Hollywood types. They had such mystery and glamour.
I would add Ingrid Bergman, Gregory Peck, Humphrey Bogart, William Powell, Myrna Loy. There are many others, but those are just a few off the top of my head.

(3,275 posts)The original list was off the top of my head. I was raised on old movies and TV shows even though I'm fairly young. There are a lot of classy celebrities today and in the past. I prefer to try to act more like Audrey Hepburn rather than someone like Kim Kardashian.

(3,212 posts)But when I see the words "elegant actor" the first picture that always pops up is Cary Grant.
And Mr. Darcey...ummm....I mean Colin Firth.

(17,193 posts)There's a story I heard about Mr Connery once. Seems in the South of France there is/was a classy restaurant where it was customary for the patrons to engage in food fights. Seriously. An actress whose name eludes me was attending one night when Mr Connery was there. Everyone was getting pelted with food, but he was untouched, so she made to throw something at him. He just waved his finger and shook his head, and went on eating. She found another target.
OTOH, why was he at a restaurant famous for food fights if he didn't want to play?

(504 posts)Cary Grant was the ultimate in elegance and class, but only 'Niv' could have dealt so adroitly with the streaker during the Academy Awards Ceremony.

Pierce Brosnan, Clark Gable, Gene Kelly, Paul Newman, Leonardo DiCaprio.
