But I'll likely never be able to eat refined sugar again, and my stomach pouch will always be smaller than normal. The first six months, it can only hold 2-3 tbsps of food at a time!

Boy, feasting on 2-3 tbsps.....you'll have to savor each spoonful.

and rebuilt by this surgery. You have to get 60-80 grams of protein a day, and you can only eat meals the size of a golf ball. Eating becomes more like a medicine regimen than a pleasurable meal experience, because you always have to be hyper-aware of your protein count for the day, and how full your pouch is, and your fluid intake (because obviously you can't drink whole glasses of water anymore).

I have been obese my whole life. I am really, really looking forward to NOT being obese. But man, this pre-op diet is hell, lol.

And thank you for the good wishes!

1 day in & out surgery. Took a few days off afterwards but it was very quick.

His doing quite well. He did the protein shakes/soups afterwards as well. The weight loss has been impressively rapid for him. He gets full very quickly now. Since I didn't want to be the only FF left in the office, he inspired me to hit they gym with a righteous vengeance.

Good luck on becoming the best version of you that you can be.
