May I suggest bands like God Is An Astronaut, MOGWAI, Pelican, Godspeed You! Black Emperor. So many, many great band you have yet to discover.

Basically it's rock without vocals or very, very little vocals. It's like really cool "movie soundtrack music" because of the slow build up that reaches a furious crescendo at the end.

Just one of few new music genres I've only recently discovered as well.

This Mortal Coil, Pale Saints. I also head off into a new type of Ambient, Stars of the Lid, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, The Dead Texan. Love the stuff!
