Remember as a youngster going on family trip and approaching the Kittatinny Mt. tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. This was before they expanded it into a dual lane tunnel.

My brother and I walked about ten miles to them one fine summer's day, and imagine, the cops wouldn't let us walk through to the city! So we ended up climbing Mount Washington instead, but somehow managed to get completely turned around and never made it to the other side.

entering that gritty entrance, going through the grimy tubes and the way Pittsburgh would just be there - BAM- as you exited them. Beautiful sight.
