Study finds vegetarians secretly eat meat while drunk

http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Study-finds-vegetarians-secretly-eat-meat-while-6560947.php

Turns out vegetarians are humans too. They also do things they might later regret while drunk.

A new study from the U.K finds that 30 percent of vegetarians crave flesh during wild nights of partying and 40 percent always eat meat while intoxicated.

Providing even more insight into the psychology of vegetarians, the survey revealed 69 percent of those who break their diets keep it a secret. After all, they have to keep up their sanctimonious and ascetic reputations....

We can't fault them. We all chow down on things we ordinarily don't eat when we're drunk. That's why Taco Bells are packed at midnight.

knows there will be a .....reaction........that is pretty hard to ignore.
Add that to a hangover, and it may be likely to be lesson hard to forget, drunk or sober.
Jus saying.....

I could imagine that a night of drunken revelry could result in a few bites of steak sandwich or something. But for many of us, it goes beyond ethics to aesthetics. I agree with the poster above who said after a while your body gets used to not having it. And then when you have it there's a bit of a reaction. I also have to wonder if these people get drunk regularly, because after not eating meat for quite some time, people tend to lose the taste and the desire for it. so maybe they're just part time vegetarians if they get drunk often enough

I don't drink alcohol. Would binging on apricot nectar do the trick? If not, I guess I had better stick to being an omnivore.....

What's up with "keep up their sanctimonious and ascetic reputations..."? (rhetorical question) Fuck SFGate. Just mention vegetarianism to some meat eaters and they go all Star-Trekky SHIELDS UP!

But I think I am heading in that direction. I gave up red meat a few weeks ago as a part of my weight loss deal, and that, combined with other changes, has got me feeling so much better- body and mind.

I've cooked bacon when I had visiting vegans and they were all like, "That smells so good", "Is there more?"
