1. My wife and I are seriously contemplating a visit there this year.

Volcanoes make flying somewhat problematic. The 2010 eruption effectively scuppered our plans to visit (The Republic of) Ireland. The smoke plume closed airports in England and Scotland. Ireland wasn't really affected but a change in wind direction could have left us stranded.

We visited there several years ago, and it was really interesting. But we didn't see anything like that!
