National Apricot Day Not many people know that just three apricots will provide a person with a third of your daily beta carotene needs. This is just one of the benefits of this fruit that are celebrated on Apricot Day! Apricots are also rich in vitamin C, vitamin A and fibre. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/apricot-day/National Static Electricity Day Static Electricity Day is a great excuse to play with static electricity! Rub a balloon to build up static, and then have fun by making your hair (or perhaps someone elses) stand on end. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/static-electricity-day/

(53,339 posts)1. It's also National Word Nerd Day
Happy National Word Nerd Day! (Thats Jan. 9, if youre wondering, but you probably already knew that if you happen to be a word nerd).
Some clues: You love to read. You have at least one Word a Day calendar, app or e-mail subscription. You cant look past spelling and punctuation errors on signs and restaurant menus. You may or may not carry a red pen on your person to correct egregious errors on the fly. If you dont already own these grammar correction stickers, you just added them to your wish list. Last but not least, no one will play Word With Friends with you.
If you recognized yourself in any of the descriptions above, congratulations, youre a word nerd!

And here are two more...
Choreographers Day George Balanchine, one of the world's greatest choreographers, was born on January 9, 1904, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. On this day, we recognize and honor all choreographers.
Play God Day! - Nobody seems to know the purpose or meaning of this day, though we all know someone who seems to celebrate it all the time.
