When push came to shove Archie would do the right thing. He was not nearly as big a bigot as he tried to get everyone to believe, which is why the story worked so well. The audience knew Archie was a decent person underneath all his bluster.

This cannot be said for Trump. He is about as close to a total loss as a human being as one can get.
