New Tablet$%#$#%....Will not play Flash content streaming

I kinda bought it for that so I'm not happy. But I have tried multiple "apps" that are useless or tutorials. Then I went as far as a manual download of the archived version-Nope.

My 1st cheap tablet played flash content fine & I didn't know this was a "thing".

I'm asking here for traffic & hopefully a fast answer. And being old I'm probably bumping into the wrong corner I can't believe it is this hard.

It is Android (but so was my last one that did fine). A Dragon touch 10.1 and it has more bells & whistles than I will ever need or use.

I did the 1st link...

But I just found that using Dolphin for a browser allows me to watch videos-so I'm relieved.

Thanks!

If you are trying to do something in a browser, Puffin browser has a built in cloud Flash player that is pretty good. But you need make sure that any previous attempts at side-loading Flash are gone. Uninstall it completely.

Flash is end of life basically. Anything above 4.0 requires work arounds.

What version did you try to side-load? Were you able to get it installed? Could you access the setting menu in the app? Some browsers like Dolphin will automatically block Flash so you have to then go into the browser settings and allow Flash to play.

Let me know more details and I will see if I can assist.

And it did not do a takeover of my other browser-so I guess I am Ok...

There are a couple of website that have streaming content. Seems the ones I like are all flash player supported.

I gave up cable a while ago.

I also found that I had to turn off updates to get the stream to work ok.

Still learning on this tech "ahem" stuff.

Thanks-I'm just happy it is working.

Yeah, Dolphin is a good Android browser. I am glad you got it worked out. I don't do much streaming but there are a couple of tech sites I stream video content from regularly.

I cut the cord about 20 years ago!

I have been coding and working with Android since the 2.3 Gingerbread days so if you have any questions or need some help, don't hesitate to PM me or ask here.

Sounds like you have a feature, not a bug.

Seriously....

A lot of old BBC programs & stuff like that. Frankly the USA "science" programs are low level crap. Bigfoot & alien theorists-where do I apply for that job anyhow-I have the hair for it!.

Anyhow Time Team & a few of the BBC shows return me to sanity...I miss the National Geographic of old & our love of science. Now it is odd to like such things it seems...
