Wonderful student breakthrough in my job today. Yay!

Don't want to talk details for the sake of the student, but I want to share this because we never know when or how children will get through their own limitations.

Normal intelligence, this was an emotional self-limitation that was finally put down by the child without prompting.

In other words, I was just doing my regular thing, and this child came up to me at the end of class and did something that would be quite ordinary for every other child in the school. But this was the first time for this child, and we've been together for years.

We can only do our best, and hope they'll meet us half-way. Yay!

I'm not a teacher, just a mom, but I do remember helping a daughter get over some sticky subjects in school. So heartening to help with a breakthrough!

If some dumb teachers don't realize how much their union does for them, they'll stop paying dues. Really bad.
