I'm back to job hunting again. Guess the plant watering job is being done by someone else.

I told the woman sitting at the entrance to the plant department ... I wanna do your job She answered me ... No, you don't. It's boring.
I said ... A boring job with a paycheck is better than no paycheck at all.

Sign me up! Short of mattress tester, I can't think of a better job.

In the days I was a security guard (the unarmed rent-a-cop type who makes you sign in and out of work), I spent most of my time studying. It would have definitely been boring with nothing to do. That was before the days of laptops, smart phones, and Internet, though. I was always puzzled when certain supervisory elements got mad at me for doing something while I was otherwise sitting around doing nothing. It helped confirm my opinion that some people like pushing others around.

Not much point in trying to find topics other than the ones on Chicago at this point.

I am lamenting not putting "Label GMOs!!!" into the headline of the story on the amount of rain we've been getting lately. It might have survived all of the Drumpf Drama

And now, the rivers swell and flood:

Over 23 Inches of Rain Triggers Record Flood Along the Sabine River, Others in the South
Quincy Vagell
Published: March 11, 2016

This multi-day heavy rain saga, which has dumped up to almost two feet of rain in parts of the South, is still triggering destructive flash flooding, and has driven or will drive some rivers to historic levels in the days ahead.

Record flooding is already occurring along a stretch of the Sabine River, and will move downstream into next week along the Texas/Louisiana border, due to record releases from Toledo Bend Reservoir, first put in service in 1966.

The river already crushed a previous record crest near Burkeville, Texas by over 5 feet, and that crest is headed downstream for the town of Deweyville, Texas, where it may top the previous unofficial record crest from 1884 by over a foot, flooding numerous homes and leaving the town isolated.

"No residents of the town have ever seen a flood in Deweyville like what's coming in the next few days." - Jonathan Erdman, weather.com senior meteorologist

Over 80 degrees before the Ides of March is unprecedented. Even at 60, we're above the average by double digits.

I hate to see a fool go unchastised. But fear not. There are plenty more fools out there; the world is not running out.

Recently I was on jury duty. I read the entire O/P, the prior responses, formed an opinion and came up with a very thoughtful response as to why I felt the post should be hidden only to find the post had been removed by the poster.

5 minutes I will never get back.

I rarely do OPs but the other day I did and it got an embarrassing low number of views, no comments except for my own. Someone else came along hours later and posted pretty much the same thing and that got lots of views and several comments. But why? Perhaps my post titles aren't intriguing enough. Is it me, people see my name and are repelled? Life is an eternal high school and there is no escape.

... although not for the same reason. But seven people will post almost simultaneously seven posts on the same subject, and one will become viral while the rest languish. It may be name-recognition, not so much yours is despised, as someone else's is better known.
