Christ almighty!

I am probably only on DU about an hour a day, and I sometimes go several days without logging on at all. I have served on 74 juries so far this year. Lately, I've been getting two a day. You guys need to be nicer to each other!

Yeah, I was booted.

NO idea why. I've got a post to Skinner in Ask the Admins seeking an answer to that.

I was pretty hurt AND angry when I found out.

I would love to help share the load........but first i need to be reinstated.

It was done to me by one of the administrators.

I don't understand it at all. Like you, I have no idea why I would be removed.

So I posted in Ask the Admins., and I hope to get an answer shortly.

I try my best to be fair also, no matter who the poster supports as a candidate.

For the most part, I try to leave posts unless they are ugly and personal.

even though our profiles say "willing to serve" both in "my profile" and "my account"

I was getting several calls/day. Then they stopped. I thought maybe it was just the time of day I was on DU...and then
a couple of days ago I found out about several others who had been booted off who also had 100% chance of serving
and willing to serve listed in their profile.

So, what gives? Who knows? I know I have not been contacted or told why I no longer get calls to juries for quite some time.

More people are dropping off DU entirely because of having been dropped--in their opinion, unjustly--from jury duty.

Make sure that that you have "Willing" selected. I've heard that choosing the "don't ask..." option (on the far right) of a jury notice rather than the simple "not now" (center) option will change your account to Unwilling.

Sorry if you've already done that but I've mistakenly "unwillinged" myself before.

I changed it back to Willing.

Now, I'll see if I start getting called for jury service again.

Weird. I don't know how that could have happened.

"Accept..." "Not now..." "Don't ask again..."

I discovered the don't ask link sets you to unwilling. If I were an admin, I'd remove the don't ask in the notice or change the wording to "I'm not willing to serve on a juries" and make the button red.

Don't know how that happened.=> See post #12: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018870699#post12

...but i don't get jury notices.=> I get about 1 per day sometimes 2. Usually they appear when I click on a main forum or new thread title. I remember Skinner saying something like they have the software set to prefer picking someone who has finished reading a thread and is entering another rather than intruding on someone reading posts within a thread. I guess it may take a bit for you to be selected.

I don't use the ignore by user function but I have some threads in the trash can. IDK if the trash function is linked to jury service but, if it is and you have a certain forum (cough, GD-p) trashed, you may almost never be called.
