The wind looked pretty fierce. I wonder if that was a factor

I vote three-niner in the brig. You've been a nautical pinboy!

because the "scratch" the cruise ship got looked a lot like the one Tommy left on the Protector.

Although it is also physically impossible for him to have scratched that part of the ship at all. The engines stick out too far to allow for that, and thus add to the comedy of it

I remember taking my wife, then girlfriend, to it. She'd managed to get me to go to several rom-coms so it was my turn to pick a movie and I chose this.

She complained all the way to the theater, complained in the ticket line, the concession line and through the coming attractions. Five minutes in she started laughing and never stopped. It's still one of our favorites.

Parody and homage without a single subatomic particle of mean-spiritedness.

Fred Kwan is my hero.

"That was a hell of a thing" is my motto whenever I find myself in surprising but deeply disturbing situations.

Note: This pic is from Wiki featuring a Canadian LST during WW II. Mine was built in 1945 and went on to Korea then Vietnam. Not showing my pics of my ship because *I'm* in them!1
