Anyone?? Interesting.....lotsa stars, and lotsa stuff I would NEVER dream about saying. Whew...... a 1960 film. WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY. JMHO.

4. Love that movie

Parts of it were filmed at Alamo Village in Brackettville, Texas - west of San Antonio where a replica of the Alamo was built. Parts were also filmed on the Sabinal River near the small town of Utopia, Texas.

John Wayne cast in the role of anyone heroic is a laugh.

Widmark wanted to play Jim Bowie. Wayne told Widmark he was to short to play Bowie. Widmark told him to give him the part and he will be tall enough. He was too.
