Hey Loungers, need a favor.

I think my good ole boy community is pulling another fast one on the homeowners and I am trying to give my opinion some air time on the internet. It's not just that I don't have the time to address the issues with them, but past experience indicates that they won't listen.

So, if my post get some recs, maybe it will get the exposure it needs to reach the people that are usually bamboozled by their hi-jinks. In other words, please rec my thread:

Are you hoping some key word in your linked post, like "HOA" will trigger a selection of your post if one of the BOD members just happens to do an internet search?

That just seems like a pretty roundabout way of getting their attention. Why not just send the essence of your post to them by registered mail?

I read and rec'd your post, but feel it's not a winning approach.

Please by all means let me know if I've misunderstood you intentions.

Good Luck.

I believed was fraud and never heard from them. I stood up for my rights and wrote them a letter to question the preferential treatment of a homeowner who had political connections in this community, and the resulting infringement on my rights. For my trouble, they held a secret HOA meeting and told me I could attend a board meeting for the outcome.

In sum, I have already performed the due diligence. The violations are so outrageous that it's time to detail them as they come up so that others can see just how bad it can get in Florida.

Thanks for your rec. Getting word out on the street is the only way to let them know that this will not go away.

I did kick and rec your thread, of course.

What those people are doing is nothing short of illegal.

I might even go further and say they created the environment that nurtured this situation. They thrive on this backwater way of networking because it makes it easier for them to cross the line between the public and private sector. As long as they can reach out to the same good ole boys and gals and count on them to support the city's programs, they return the favor by ignoring the due diligence that will expose them; or they pass on public money through their committees, as they did in 2007 through their Beautification committee. A big no-no since we are a private organization.

Frankly, judges and ex-judges have encouraged this crazy property rights/sovereign citizen concept so i wouldn't take my chances in a county court. Especially not after the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman debacle.

What I have is a story to tell. This is every bit the Third America that people have referred to as an entitled community or white privilege. In twenty years I have been able to see how it has affected several generations in the same family. We went from, "oh, it's the old guys who made a mistake, you must forgive them", to their grandchildren who are continuing the chaos as if it's their birthright.

And this spreads. They do not believe in righting their wrongs. They believe in double-down and resolving differences with the "right" neighbors by inducements.

Hence, we have all the appearances of a compound.
