It was a free chat line used to meet others. You would speak between the busy signals and find others who were doing the same.
Anyone else remember this?

I remember the Beep Line, only we called it the Jam Line. It was active here in the Twin Cities from the early 1960's to the mid 1980's. There was recently a piece done on our Jam Line on Minnesota Public Radio.
