Spotify's ten most played songs from the 90s

10. Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
9. Radiohead - Creep
8. Metallica - Enter Sandman
7. Dr. Dre - Still Dre
6. Nirvana - Come As You Are
5. Blackstreet - No Diggity
4. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge
3. Oasis - Wonderwall
2. Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
1. Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

#1 obviously is hardly a surprise (I'd actually be quite surprised if anything OTHER than that was it), but some odd ones otherwise. Never would've guessed "Iris" would be that high. Or that #5 and #7 are on the top 10.

I believe it got over a million spins in that year alone. I was more into their earlier alt-rock myself. They sound like elevator music to me now.

The last popular music album I'm conversant with is "So" by Peter Gabriel (1984). I couldn't tell you much of anything about music since then. I've heard number 10 (who hasn't?), and I'm familiar with all of the artists named (except Blackstreet), but I couldn't hum the tune to any of the other nine songs.

I'm very, very old, and it's not likely to change anytime soon.
