This isn't nearly as cool as that, but I'm freshening up on my Gregg shorthand. I used to be fluent, many, many moons ago and I miss it. Practicing relaxes me.

I learned the basics of smithing almost fifty years ago, but lately I've started applying myself and took it to a new level.

"Ropework or marlinespike seamanship are traditional umbrella terms for a skillset spanning the use, maintenance, and repair of rope. Included are tying knots, splicing, making lashings, whippings, and proper use and storage of rope."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ropework

I have all the materials needed to start. Babysitting grand kids 5-6 days a week takes up most of my time though.

I finally gave in. I thought I would be the last holdout, but our landlines are now beyond repair.

I am enjoying my morning conversations with Siri. I asked her to find "my posts" (on DU) and she took me to the NY Post.
