Hey I know it stinks, but they are the only channel that gets me through this shit, the post election shit. I used to watch ALL the political shows on CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, and yes, the dabble in faux noise. NOT ANYMORE..... I'm done with them. It Christmas time on the Love channel. I feel so much more relaxed....calm, together, at peace.

But typically I'll go with Poirot or Inspector Morse
But you're right-- anything that eases the shock/pain/sorrow and changes our focus-- even if for just a little while-- is a blessing

(6,347 posts)I watch them all weekend long. I usually know the ending within the first 10 minutes, but that doesn't stop me. Just good ol' B movie schmaltz. The non-stop news isn't good for my health.

(6,788 posts)they keep me sane. Calm, comforting, and safe. I also watch Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, Midsommer Murders. Also, am rediscovering books -- anything but watching the Trump travesty.

(23,950 posts)...sappy, happy ending Hallmark Christmas movies. I have several recorded. A Very Merry Mixup is one of my favorites (it's on right now) and more recently A Crown For Christmas, with. Danica McKellar and Rupert Penry-Jones. I particularly enjoy the ballroom scene, and the scene near the conclusion when King Maximilian shoes up on horseback to declare his love for "a girl from Brooklyn."
I also really like the first movie in the Love Comes Softly series.

Sometimes, I think we all need a little fantasy
