Go see it. If you're a true fan, then you will really love it.

What made it the best movie in the entire franchise was that it's the only one that truly conveyed what was at stake and the real sacrifices that had to be made in order to defeat the Empire. The other movies (notably the prequels) were all cutesy and fuzzy.

(3,286 posts)Not to be harsh but that particular, widespread misspelling makes me wonder whether or not Americans are familiar with either word. "Rouge" I can understand you not getting, because it is a foreign word; "Rogue" on the other hand is too un-American to be used in general conversation so I'm wondering if the film-makers themselves, had a clue.
I'll wait for the DVD.

(24,365 posts)REALLY well done and saw it in 3D, though with my eyes not being what they used to be, it took me a while to get used to it.

(56,828 posts)I might flip Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith, but it's close enough that I wouldn't argue either way.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)Not sure about that. I'll have to watch it a few more times. Definitely very good, though. Great action sequences, memorable characters.

(56,828 posts)after the pilot meets Forest Whitaker's character (Saw)... swipe to the right the pilot gets some sort of brain probe by some weird alien creature that can read minds. Saw mentions that the creature leaves the subject (the pilot) either dead or brain damaged, I thought? However, after being a little slow to start, he seemed to be a pretty regular crew member and heroic at the end. Did I miss something, or was the brain damage temporary?

ROGUE ONE was better than it had to be, and for that, I am grateful.
