If you've never seen Lion In Winter.........see it! It's a great British production and absolutely amazing. Great acting, great dialogue, scenery and etc. Katherine Hepburn is one of the big stars.

I found this: http://articles.latimes.com/1985-11-23/entertainment/ca-1344_1_color-systems It was colorized with new technology in 1985.

There is a later version, possibly made for TV. I like the old film, but I haven't seen it in a long time.

Okay, in 1982, but when I grew up, every movie on TV was in black and white.

I thought that MO34S had been colorized somewhere along the way.

I still watch TV OTA (over the air). There are a few channels that run nothing but old movies. You can watch old B&W westerns all day long, or film noir all day long, or whatever. Needless to say, I gravitate toward those channels.

Thanks.

I like all the Sid and Marty ones, but that one's my fave.

Kris Kringle: "...and you better not pout."
Little kid: "Why?"

That's gold right there.

Our local theater had it--along with some other classic holiday films--earlier in the month. Went with a girlfriend. I'd never seen it on
the big screen and it was marvelous. The timing and repartee between Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye was wonderful. Fun dance numbers.
Schmaltzy boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back again plot. And some great costumes by Edith Head.

Love, love that classic.

Funny; I saw your subject line, thought "Bad Santa", but I wasn't going to mention it so as to not lower the tone in what I was sure was going to be a long list of sentimental favourites.

Great liberal messages in that film. I suggest watching it without and commercial interruptions. Frank Capra creates an emotional narrative that is ruined by interruptions.

Runners up:

Truman Capote's: A Christmas Memory (the Geraldine Page version, narrated by Capote)
A Christmas Story
Rifftrax's Santa Claus
