I'll start with a few..........Blazing Saddles, The Producers, and There is Something About Mary...
That last one, I doubled over laughing in a couple of scenes..the more, the merrier, and perhaps if you want, tell us why or how it made you laugh. OR...whatever you want to add....if it can pass on some smiles and laughter...

Tunnelvision! ("the no-bullshit network" was another great, underappreciated humor flick. (LOVED the scene where Henry Kissinger, prompted by a parrot, called Nixon "a colossal ASSHOLE!" . )
And then, there is everything by Monty Python, possibly the greatest (and funniest) troupe of sketch artists ever.
Next on my list would probably be "The Gods Must Be Crazy".
If I could get all of these on DVD, I would probably take a week off work, skip town, lock myself in a room with a TV and a DVD player, and LAUGH my freakin' ASS off!!

(14,274 posts)Robert Downey Jr successfully playing a white Australian playing an African American playing a Chinese peasant is a thing of beauty to behold. The same goes for Ben Stiller killing a panda and turning it into a head dress. And Nick Nolte pretending to be handicapped with his two fake hook hands. Steve Merchant experiencing an unexpected problem on the movie set. Tom Cruise gives the comedy performance of his life (Yes - that Tom Cruise). And Booty Sweat - what an energy drink!
I watched this in a small town theater with my wife and daughter when it first came out. We were the only ones in a small town theater who thought it was funny which made it more funny. We got the church giggles because, I swear to God, the other people in the theater appeared to think it was a poorly done serious movie. I think this is the funniest move Ben Stiller ever made.
red dog 1
(27,792 posts)I'll have to check Tropic Thunder out.
Is it funnier than either Meet The Parents or Meet The Fockers?
Initech
(100,064 posts)I love it, it's one of my favorite comedies of the last few years. But keep in mind that it's very R rated - if you go in expecting "Meet The Parents" you will be very disappointed. On the flip side though, it's one of the single funniest roles Tom Cruise has ever had. Man he owns this movie.
red dog 1
(27,792 posts)The only Tom Cruise movie I really liked was "Collateral" with Jamie Foxx
(I've probably seen it 20 times)
Initech
(100,064 posts)Tropic Thunder is definitely unlike any Cruise role you've ever seen. He definitely had some fun with this one, and I think I read somewhere that Cruise said Les Grossman is his favorite character he's ever played. Either that or Vincent from Collateral.
Zorro
(15,740 posts)I agree it's the funniest movie Stiller has made, and Tom Cruise is especially hilarious.
I also thought the movie "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood" by the Wayans Brothers to also be outrageously funny.
I'm also partial to The Graduate, but its humor is on a different sort of level.

Blazing Saddles & The Producers could be the 2 funniest movies I ever saw.
Other great comedies include:
Young Frankenstein, The Big Lebowski, Get Shorty, Borat, My Cousin Vinny, Analyze This & Analyze That, Me, Myself & Irene (Jim Carey, Renee Zellweger) and that great '90s Irish comedy about Dubliners starting a soul band called The Commitments.
Going back to the '50s, two of the best are:

All kinds of crazy things keep happening around the guy, who has no idea what is going on. If you have Amazon Fire TV, you can see it on Filmstruck.
