Does anyone besides me feel like having a drink

before getting together with their family?

It usually ends up okay, but still there are always the questions.

"So where are you working now?"

I'm not. I'm on disability again and no I don't foresee being able to work full time again. Thanks for asking. Please pass the wine.

"It's a shame you gained back all that weight."

Yes, thanks for reminding me. By the way, I'm fat, not blind. Please pass the mashed potatoes.

"So, are you seeing anyone?"

No. I'm unemployed and obese. I'm not sure I would want to date anyone who would want to date me and no, I'm not a lesbian. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!) Please pass the eggnog. Yes, the rum too.

A drink? Light weight. I have to go to my sister's tonight and co-exist with her 2nd husband. Thor_MN Dec 2016 #2

That might be a better question, at least in my world.

May things go well for you this holiday, with or without a buzz.

Her 1st was conservative too, but he wasn't an asshole. Too bad that he died due to liver cancer.

They about 40 miles away, so I can't drink until I get there. And for every drink, I should be there an hour before I can leave. Maybe it will turn out like last year, where my sister and her husband got into a tiff, so he took off with his buddy to find a open bar.

My brother and his wife are atheists. My cousin and her famiily are Christians, but they don't say grace or anything like that.

I've was down already and since the election I've been really dow.ln, so I was expecting the worst. I just have to remind myself that it's the depression doing the talking inside my head.
