Anyone here watches the series "Colony" on USA?

What's amazing about it is how absolutely willing humans are to let alien creatures take over the planet.

Apparently, the collaborators had no qualms about it at all and were working for the alien "Hosts" long before the actual takeover.

People really suck, because it's really probable that they'd roll over and just give in if this shit actually happened.

All the aliens had to do was throw certain people some crumbs and they sold out humanity no problem.

The stupid people vote for them over and over especially after the bush years screwed them over. Falling for their bs talking points.

We are going to have all of our systems of government destroyed assuming Tillerson/Putin give the green light. This is what is happening now. We are doing nothing about it. Nothing. General strike might help, we need to support that Feb 17

How could people just acquiesce and collaborate with the invaders? It seems like they're trying to push the "get in and destroy from inside" a little bit, but all the main characters' motivations seem to be about individual and personal agendas. The religious subtext with the "greatest day" crap gives me the willies. The segregation, the brutality, all of it is pretty troubling, but somehow, they have sucked me in, for now.

I agree that this would likely be what happens if an invasion did take place.

We humans may like to think that we have matured a bit since then or learned our lessons, but no, regrettably, as a species we are the same grasping, self serving posers then as now. In place of the Nazis, now we stand on the sidelines and watch our ersatz friends and family fawning and fighting for the least crumbs that trickle down from the gilded plates of the super rich.

Every American likes to claim they would have fought tyranny during WWII, had the Nazis taken over here. The reality is that they would not have. There would have been collaborators, just like there were in France under the occupation. Americans think they would all have been Resistance, but that's bullshit, as we can see right now. Trump is an authoritarian, even if he is not yet an actual dictator, yet he is supported by people who cry "freedom" all the time, when it is the opposite.
